The first phase of The America I Want is program, we were asking Americans to reflect on America, sending us a 30 seconds video, saying what the America they want and to explore how their country might better serve the hopes of all its people. Our inspiration is the native North American Talking Circle and the New England town meeting tradition of participatory democracy. Our program embraced the great diversity of points of view, of backgrounds, and of ways of being an American, which underpin our diverse and multifaceted nation.
